Booking Terms and Conditions

Definitions:

"BBC" means the British Broadcasting Corporation of BBC Broadcasting House, Portland Place, London, W1A 1AA.

"Booking Form" means [e.g. the Booking Form available at http://www.bbctraining.com/booking.asp].

"Customer" means any individual, company or other entity who submits a Booking Form for a course.

"Delegate" means any individual in respect of whom a booking has been made for attendance at a training course, and is either the Customer itself or an individual who is nominated by the Customer in a Booking Form.

Course Fees

Standard course fees are listed per Delegate and include all tuition fees, use of equipment and all course materials. Lunch and refreshments will be provided where the course is located at the BBC Wood Norton premises. Course fees are correct and valid at the time of publishing but may be subject to increase at a later date. For the avoidance of doubt, no such increase will be applied to any bookings in respect of which a Booking Form has been submitted and confirmed by the BBC. For bespoke courses that have been arranged through the BBC’s Training and Development department, fees are given as a total for the provision of the course as a whole and not per Delegate. Bookings for bespoke course over £10,000 are not subject to these terms and conditions and are instead subject to an alternative contract which will be provided by the BBC.

Replacement of Delegates

Any course booking for a Delegate which has been confirmed by the BBC is personal to that Delegate and may not be transferred to any other individual without the prior consent of the BBC. If a Delegate is no longer able to attend a course for which a Booking Form has been submitted, substitute Delegates will be accepted at any time, subject to notification in writing to BBC Training and Development, Wood Norton, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 4YB, UK or by email to training@bbc.co.uk. Where a substitution is made, the Customer will be required to complete and submit a new Booking Form in the name of the new Delegate.

Reservations

Upon receipt of a completed Booking Form, the BBC will confirm availability of the requested course and a booking acknowledgement will be issued to the Customer, subject to our payment terms and conditions as detailed below. Joining instructions will be sent prior to the course to confirm that the course is going ahead.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available for Delegates only where courses are based at BBC Wood Norton. Any request for accommodation should be made on the relevant Booking Form. The standard accommodation package consists of bed and breakfast. All accommodation bookings are confirmed on a first come first served basis subject to availability.

The fee for accommodation is £75.00 per night, bed and breakfast only. Accommodation can be requested for the duration of the course and additional nights if required, such as the night before the course start date or weekends. Any requests for accommodation should be marked clearly on your Booking Form.

Whilst the BBC will make every effort to accommodate Delegates at BBC Wood Norton, it reserves the right to use alternative accommodation from a BBC preferred supplier, if appropriate. Advance notice will be given wherever possible.

Prices are correct at time of publishing but may be subject to increase. For the avoidance of doubt, no such increase will be applied to any accommodation bookings in respect of which a Booking Form has been submitted and confirmed by the BBC.

Health, Safety and Fire

Where courses are based at any premises owned or occupied by the BBC:

The Delegate and/or the Customer shall at all times comply with all applicable health, safety, fire and environmental requirements (whether legislative or otherwise), codes of practice, guidance and policy, including but not limited to those issued by the Health & Safety Commission, the Health & Safety Executive, the Home Office and the BBC (“Safety Requirements”), as communicated to the Delegate and/or the Customer.

The Delegate and/or the Customer shall fully co-operate with the BBC and any others, as necessary, during the Delegate’s attendance on the course, and immediately report to the BBC any accident or injury occurring during it, and also any act or circumstance which, within the Delegate and/or the Customer’s knowledge, may have caused that accident or injury.

Where courses are not based at BBC premises:

The BBC and the Customer may agree Safety Requirements in addition to or different from those specified above. The BBC and the Customer shall agree such requirements and shall exchange such information as is necessary for that purpose (and they shall acknowledge receipt thereof in writing). The BBC and the Customer shall at all times comply with such requirements as agreed hereunder.

The Customer shall:

(a) assess reasonably foreseeable risks to health and safety (including fire) that may affect the BBC, the Delegate and/or any third party arising out of or in any way connected with the performance of the Contract, and provide a copy of such assessment to the BBC upon reasonable request;

(b) eliminate or adequately control such risks;

(c) consult with the BBC on the procedures to be followed in the event of serious and imminent danger to any persons that may affect the BBC, the Delegate and/or any third party arising out of or in any way connected with the performance of the Contract and shall comply therewith.

The BBC shall notify the Customer of all risks to health and safety which are reasonably foreseeable to the BBC and which may affect the Customer or the BBC arising out of or in any way connected with the performance of the Contract and the Customer shall have due regard to these.
