This course covers the general principles and practice of vision mixing across a variety of programme formats - news, discussion and music. Working under strict time constraints delegates undertake a range of practical exercises developing operational and artistic skills.

anyone who needs to develop their skills and confidence in vision mixing in a live studio environment those wishing to combine the skills of studio directing and vision mixing
Aims:
an intensive practical experience of vision mixing in a studio environment, together with the essential underpinning knowledge of current technology and production techniques a good practical understanding of the operational facilities on a vision mixer and the skills to work confidently in a variety of real- life situations the ability to develop experience in a programme environment
Outline:
basic functions of a vision mixer - cut, mix and wipe keying techniques use of previews to time your cuts and pick the right shot programs which use effects memories and practical strategies for programme preparation motivation and the grammar to TV story telling mixing news, magazine and music programmes combining the role of director and vision mixer ( optional) full studio facilities production of a ' Magazine show' with effects, interviews and demo.
Prerequisites:
an awareness of television studio procedures and roles
