Aims:
to show how to generate effective and creative working relationships between "behind the scenes" production staff and their presenters the workshop-style course provides delegates with a tried-and-tested repertoire of protocols, techniques and assertiveness techniques, intended to reinforce an amicable and productive studio atmosphere
Outline:
the course covers everything from the intricacies of script negotiations and talkback etiquette, to the psychology of producing a live programme course members have a chance to turn theory into practice through a series of role-plays in studio an experienced presenter and psychologist also explore the sensitivities of the producer/presenter relationship the emphasis of the course is on practical techniques and sessions are based on advice provided by experienced BBC producers and editors
Outcome:
delegates should come out of this course feeling able to develop an assertive, effective and amicable approach to studio directing
