Our training centre offers industry standard studio, post-production and location facilities. You can book these for additional hands-on practice after classroom-based sessions.

Studio facilities for television and radio
|
One fully operational, 4-camera television studio, 16:9 widescreen capable, with full production lighting, cyclorama backings, stereo sound and autocue. Another studio floor space with lighting and shared technical facilities with Studio A. A smaller 2-camera studio.(Shared facilities with ST A)
Four network radio studios, with full outside source, telephone balance and routing facilities and Radioman & VCS Dira radio playout systems.
Floor area of 220 square metres, Philips LDK 100 cameras, Vinten camera mounts, high-level lighting grid with motorised barrels, lamps by Sachtler, Arri and Strand, moving lights by Martin Professional, ADB Vision 10 lighting console, Sony 7250 digital (SD) vision switcher. Pixel Power Collage, Aston Motif, Quantel Picturebox and Paintbox graphics. Recording onto DVD, MPEG2 server (operated by ‘red lights’), Cinegy, AVID Airspeeds and multiple tape formats. Replay from AVID Airspeeds, Cinegy Air and multiple tape formats.
Combined Production and Lighting/Vision Control room with a separate sound control room.
Floor area of 60 square metres, fixed cyclorama and lighting by Videssence, including chromakey.
Floor area of 240 square metres, and Sachtler, pantograph-based grid with Berkey dual-source lamps.

Post Production Facilities

Four AVID Media Composer (Quad core Pentium) suites with Adobe Suite CS3. Extensive array of 24 Cinegy clients that are spread across a number of areas including dedicated edit suites, workshops and production classrooms. All PC’s are linked via our own network with 3GB backbone and 6TB of online Islon video storage and 1TB of fast Nearline storage.

Digital audio recording and editing on SADiE, SonicSolutions, CoolEdit PRO, DAVE2000, ProTools, MiniDisc, DAT, CD, TASCAM 8 track.
Self-contained network of PC workstations, with current internet audio applications.
Four Panasonic P2 HD shooting kits (HPX500), four Sony DSR500 and four Sony Z1's.
Portable lighting including Blondes, Redheads, Sachtler reporter kits, Arri grip gear, HMIs, Kinoflo and Dedo lights. Professional tripods with track and dolly system.
