Iain Davidson

Iain is a specialist in lighting skills for everyone from Producers to Lighting Directors. He also runs courses in ‘safety for DV deployers’ and ‘operational skills in programme making’.

Iain is on the committee of the Society of Television Lighting Directors, the professional body which represents lighting practitioners around the world and edits the magazine "Television Lighting".

Work history

Iain spent 12 years working as a lighting director both in the studio and on location, he then worked on Byker Grove and was nominated for the Royal Television Society craft award in the region.

In 2002, he spent six months as an engineering manager for BBC Outside Broadcasts working on projects like The Commonwealth Games and a multi-camera Dickens drama.
